RAWALPINDI, May 30: A lady schoolteacher was allegedly killed by her brother over her marriage issue in the limits of Airport police station on Wednesday.

The police said 22-year-old Sajida Bibi, resident of Dhoke Gangal, was allegedly murdered by her brother, Mohammad Ehsan, when their parents were not at home.

Sajida Bibi, the daughter of Mohammad Pervez, was to be married on Thursday. She had a brawl with her brother who was against her marriage.

While he was quarrelling with his sister, he got infuriated and picked a kitchen knife and attacked her.

The gruesome murder came to light when her uncle Zahoor Ahmed in the neighborhood heard the screams of his niece and rushed to her rescue.

“As he rushed to rescue his niece, he saw his nephew Ehsan running out of the house in panic brandishing a blood-stained knife,” Sub-Inspector (SI) Ansar Ahmed, who was investigating the case, revealed.

He said it would be too early to speak about the real cause of the murder because none of the victim’s family was willing to give the statement as they were busy in her funeral.

He said shortly after the incident, the police visited the scene and found blood everywhere.

Mohammad Pervez, the father of the deceased, said in his few-worded statement that he was at his workshop when he was informed that his daughter had been killed.

He said on getting information, he rushed to the hospital where his daughter was pronounced dead. The body was handed over to her parents after the postmortem.
